In a shocking turn of events, chaos erupted in India's parliament as at least two men stormed into the chamber, shouting slogans and releasing colored gas. The incident occurred on the 22nd anniversary of a deadly militant attack on the parliament, adding to the already tense atmosphere.

Security footage and images captured MPs and security officials desperately trying to apprehend one of the intruders as he leapt from table to table. Reports indicate that the security officials eventually overpowered the men and took them into custody.

Lawmakers revealed that the two individuals entered the well of the house from the visitors' gallery, although their motives remain unclear at this time. The incident unfolded while lawmakers were in session in the Lok Sabha, the lower house of India's parliament. As a result, both the Lok Sabha and the Rajya Sabha were briefly suspended before the session resumed.

Lok Sabha speaker, Om Birla, stated that an investigation is currently underway, with the Delhi Police being called to aid in the inquiry. Preliminary findings suggest that the smoke sprayed in the house appeared to be "harmless." Nevertheless, the security breach has raised concerns among lawmakers and citizens alike.

Outside the parliament, two other individuals, a man and a woman, were detained for protesting by releasing canisters of colored gas. They were led away by the police, alongside the captured intruders.

Lawmaker Danish Ali, recounting the chaotic scene, mentioned that "two people jumped from the public gallery and there was smoke. There was chaos all around. Both of them were overpowered by security officials." The incident's timing, coinciding with the anniversary of the deadly attack on India's parliament, further heightened tensions among the politicians and the public.

Earlier in the day, President Droupadi Murmu, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, and other leaders had paid tribute to the victims of the 2001 attack on parliament. Fourteen lives were lost on that fateful day, including five attackers.

Reflecting on the incident, Karti Chidambaram, an MP from the Congress party, shared his experience of the chaos. "Suddenly, it appeared that one person had fallen down from the visitors' gallery. Then we realized that it was a deliberate act of him jumping into the well. There was another person, both of them pulled out canisters which were emitting yellow smoke," he explained.

As the investigation continues, the breach of security in India's parliament raises concerns about the vulnerability of such important institutions and the safety of its members. The incident serves as a grim reminder of the constant need for heightened security measures to prevent any future attacks or disruptions within the parliamentary premises.
