The search is currently underway for Nancy Ng, a 29-year-old woman from Monterey Park, Southern California, who disappeared while on a yoga retreat in Guatemala. According to her family, Nancy went missing on October 19th at a retreat in Lake Atitlán.

Nancy, a former Cal State L.A. student who works for the Alhambra Unified School District, had planned to relax at a week-long yoga retreat, which she had done for the second year in a row. She had left on October 14th, and just a few days into her trip, her family received a call from the retreat organizer informing them that she had vanished.

Formally reported as missing on October 19th, Nancy's family remains distraught, with many unanswered questions about her disappearance. The details surrounding her vanishing remain scarce.

Nicky Ng, Nancy's sister, shared that Nancy was staying on Lake Atitlán, a large body of water within a volcanic crater and a popular tourist spot. Nancy had enjoyed the beauty of the lake during her previous visit, and this year's retreat was supposed to provide more exciting activities on the lake.

Since Nancy's disappearance, her family has been desperately searching for answers, reaching out to the State Department, the FBI, and local representatives for assistance. They have also enlisted the help of a private search and rescue team in Guatemala, who have been conducting aerial and land searches, utilizing divers and drones to scour approximately 95 percent of the lake.

Chris Sharpe, Co-Owner of Black Wolf Helicopters, one of the organizations working on the search, shared the challenges they are facing due to the lack of cooperation from potential witnesses who may have been with Nancy on the day of her disappearance. The team is tirelessly working to gather leads, despite the limited information available.

Nancy is the eldest of four siblings and is described as someone who loves practicing yoga, traveling, and hiking with her family. She works in the Alhambra Unified School District, assisting students with disabilities. Despite setbacks in the search, Nancy's family remains resolute in their determination to find her.

The FBI has confirmed their involvement in the investigation, working closely with the Guatemalan government, who are leading the efforts. Meanwhile, Nancy's family continues to privately fund the search efforts, including setting up a GoFundMe page to assist in the search and rescue operations.

With time being of the essence, Nancy's family is urging anyone with information to come forward and help bring her home. The ongoing nightmare of not knowing what happened to Nancy or if she will ever be found has prompted her family to make this plea to the public.

The search for Nancy Ng continues, as her family refuses to give up hope, hoping that their loved one will be found safe and sound.
