Known as "cloak-nevidimka," this new technology is rooted in the Russian military doctrine of "maskirovka" or "disguise," which aims to deceive adversaries about the presence and activities of troops.

According to Rebekah Koffler, a strategic military intelligence analyst, the concept behind "maskirovka" is to mislead the enemy regarding troop size, position, timing, and hardware. The Russians place great importance on controlling their adversary's perception of the battlefield, investing significant resources in achieving this objective.

Russian company HiderX recently discussed the new camouflage technology in an interview with Russian outlet TASS. The "cloak-nevidimka" weighs approximately 350 grams and can be folded to fit into a pocket. It works by concealing the heat signature of soldiers, effectively camouflaging them against heat-seeking devices.

The camouflage suit developed by HiderX utilizes a unique fabric coating, which dilutes the soldier's silhouette, according to the company. While they did not disclose specific details about the technology, they highlighted its ability to screen the surrounding temperature and make Russian soldiers less visible to heat-seeking sensors.

Previous Russian camouflage technology allowed for the isolation of heat but proved ineffective. However, HiderX claims that their new technology capitalizes on the heat exchange process, which occurs naturally as the fabric breathes, resulting in more effective camouflage.

Rebekah Koffler further shared details of the technology, emphasizing that the information is derived from Russian sources such as TV Zvezda and Military Review. Koffler clarified that the technology has been field-tested, including trials in Ukraine. The complete suit includes a hood, cap, and special glasses, offering effective cover even at a close range of approximately two meters or three feet.

The development of the "cloak-nevidimka" took place at the RKhBZ Academy, which focuses on Radiological Chemical Biological Defense, highlighting the military's dedication to advancing their camouflage capabilities.

Rebekah Koffler emphasized that the Russians' intention to publicize this technology showcases their confidence in its capabilities, emphasizing that it does not imply deception. The deployment of these "invisibility cloaks" signifies Russia's commitment to constantly enhance their military capabilities and maintain an edge on the battlefield.
