Qatar, with the assistance of France, has successfully mediated a deal between Israel and Hamas to allow the delivery of essential medications to over 100 Israeli hostages being held captive in Gaza. This breakthrough marks the first agreement reached between the two warring sides since a weeklong cease-fire collapsed at the end of November.

The hostages were taken by Hamas during their October 7 cross-border attack, which triggered the ongoing war between Israel and Hamas. The Red Cross has not been granted access to visit the hostages, and it is believed that many, including elderly individuals, are in desperate need of medical treatment.

In order to address this urgent issue, Qatar has announced that additional quantities of humanitarian aid will be provided to Palestinians in Gaza as part of the deal. The medications are set to be delivered on Wednesday.

Meanwhile, in Yemen, the United States has launched another strike against the Houthi rebel group. This marks the third assault on the Iran-backed group in recent days. The Houthis have retaliated by attacking shipping in the crucial Red Sea corridor, claiming they intend to halt Israel's actions in Gaza against Hamas.

The conflict in Gaza has taken a heavy toll on the civilian population. The Gaza Health Ministry has reported that the bodies of 158 people killed in Israeli airstrikes have been brought to hospitals in the past 24 hours, bringing the overall death toll in Gaza to 24,285. In Israel, approximately 1,200 people were killed during Hamas' October 7 attack, which sparked the war and led to the capture of around 250 hostages by the militants.

As the war enters its 100th day, Palestinians continue to fight in heavily affected areas of Gaza and launch rockets towards Israel. Hamas is relying on an arsenal of weapons sourced from Iran, China, Russia, and North Korea.

A freed Israeli hostage has shared her harrowing experiences of captivity and expressed concerns for her husband who is still being held in Gaza. She reveals the horrors faced by hostages while in the custody of Hamas.

Amidst the escalating tensions, the United Nations agency chiefs have highlighted the urgent need for more aid to reach Gaza quickly, warning of the imminent threat of famine and disease in the region.

Furthermore, the United States military has conducted a raid seizing Iranian missile parts that were intended for Houthi rebels. As tensions continue to rise, Iran has launched strikes on targets in northern Iraq and Syria.

With a focus on the situation in Gaza, the European Union has added Hamas leader Yehya Sinwar, who was responsible for the October 7 attacks on Israel, to its terrorist list. This move is a response to Hamas' ongoing and indiscriminate terrorist attacks in Israel.

Qatar's Prime Minister strongly criticized Israel and the international community for the ongoing conflict in Gaza, highlighting the need for a two-state solution and urging an end to Palestinian divisions.

In southern Israel, at least 25 rockets were launched from the Gaza Strip towards Israeli territory, causing damage to a store. This represents one of the most intense barrages from Gaza in over a week. In response, the Israeli army has expanded its military control from northern Gaza to other parts of the strip.

As the violence continues, the Israeli military is reviewing an incident in the occupied West Bank where a Palestinian woman was killed in clashes with Israeli forces. The West Bank has witnessed a surge in violence since the start of the war in Gaza, with clashes between Palestinians and Israeli forces resulting in numerous casualties.

Furthermore, an exchange of fire along Israel's border with Egypt has left an Israeli soldier slightly injured. The incident occurred near the Nitzana border crossing, and the Israeli military has reported hits among the armed suspects involved. Egypt attributes the incident to drug smuggling and reported one fatality, with six individuals subsequently arrested.

The dire humanitarian situation in Gaza has captured the attention of the United Nations Secretary-General, who warns of the long shadow of starvation and the risk of disease outbreaks. Barriers to delivering vital aid, such as widespread bombardment and restrictions imposed by Israel, are hindering the provision of humanitarian assistance in Gaza. The UN and its partners are calling for increased access and support to meet Gaza's growing needs.

As the war in Gaza reaches its 100th day, the conflict continues to take a heavy toll on both the Israeli and Palestinian populations, with urgent calls for a cease-fire and a comprehensive resolution to the ongoing crisis.
