In a highly anticipated interview with Tucker Carlson, Russian President Vladimir Putin made a series of outrageous claims that went unchecked by his host. During the two-hour-and-seven-minute conversation, Putin made assertions ranging from Poland's alleged role in starting World War II to the CIA's supposed involvement in the Nord Stream pipeline explosions. White House Communications Coordinator John Kirby had even warned Americans "not to believe anything" prior to the interview's release.

Putin's understanding of history seemed skewed when he suggested that Poland collaborated with Hitler and thus was to blame for the start of World War II. Contrary to his claims, historians attribute the war to Hitler's aggressive expansionism and the Nazis' decision to invade neighboring countries. Putin's remarks went unchallenged by Carlson, who had initially praised the Russian leader's "encyclopedic knowledge."

Another controversial claim made by Putin was his fundamental belief that Ukraine belongs to Russia, citing the establishment of the Soviet Ukraine after World War II. In reality, Ukraine declared its independence from Russia in 1991 and has a complex historical background involving Lithuania and Poland, neither of which are currently asserting claims over the country. Carlson's only response to Putin's explanation was a brief "Right."

Putin also labeled Ukraine as a "satellite state of the US," supported by ongoing financial aid from the United States to the war-torn country. However, Ukrainian President Vlodomyr Zelenskyy has repeatedly emphasized that the conflict is about Ukrainian sovereignty, expressing gratitude for the financial support while stressing Ukraine's independence.

One of the most contentious claims made by Putin was his accusation that the CIA was responsible for the explosions of the Nord Stream pipelines. Despite Carlson's lighthearted response, Putin insisted that the CIA had no alibi. When pressed about evidence implicating NATO or the CIA, Putin refused to provide any. The United States government has vehemently denied involvement in the attack, with suspicion falling primarily on Ukraine.

The unchecked remarks made by Putin throughout the interview have sparked controversy and raised concerns about misinformation. Critics argue that Carlson's failure to challenge these claims contributed to their dissemination without proper scrutiny. As the interview continues to make headlines, the credibility of Putin's assertions remains a point of contention, further fueling the ongoing debate over Russian influence and geopolitical dynamics.
