The Silt Police Department is currently investigating an incident that occurred on Saturday night at a restaurant in Silt, Colorado, involving U.S. Representative Lauren Boebert and her ex-husband, Jayson Boebert.

Chief Mike Kite of the Silt Police Department confirmed the investigation, but due to an ongoing collection of evidence, he refrained from providing further details. Law enforcement authorities responded to a call made from Miner's Claim restaurant on Saturday night, though Chief Kite did not disclose the nature of the incident or any accusations involved. The Silt Police Department plans to release a report on the incident once the investigation is concluded.

No arrests were made at the scene, according to Chief Kite.

In response to the incident, Lauren Boebert's campaign manager issued a statement to The Denver Post. Boebert expressed her disappointment in the situation, stating that it has been escalating and served as another reason for her decision to move. She denied allegations of physically assaulting Jayson Boebert, reiterating that no arrests were made on the night in question. She also mentioned her intention to consult with her lawyer regarding her ex-husband's assertions about the incident.

Jayson Boebert informed The Denver Post during a brief phone interview that he contacted the Silt Police Department on Sunday morning, expressing his lack of interest in pursuing charges against his ex-wife. He indicated that he and Boebert were engaged in a difficult conversation before the incident occurred but did not provide further details.

Lauren Boebert, who represents Colorado's 3rd Congressional District, had filed for divorce from Jayson Boebert in April, citing irreconcilable differences. The divorce was finalized in October. The couple, who were married in 2005, have four sons and one grandchild.

The initial report of the incident involving the Boeberts was made by American Muckrakers, a political organization that aims to remove the second-term congresswoman from office. The group alleged that Boebert had punched her husband twice before contacting the police. However, Chief Kite neither confirmed nor denied this report and mentioned the police's interest in obtaining video footage from the restaurant.

Both Lauren and Jayson Boebert have previous encounters with law enforcement. Lauren Boebert has been arrested and summoned at least four times for minor offenses before her election to Congress, with one of the cases ultimately being dropped. Jayson Boebert was arrested in 2004 and pleaded guilty to charges of public indecency and lewd exposure after he exposed himself to two minors at a bowling alley.

The Silt Police Department continues its investigation into the incident, and further updates will be provided once the report is released.
