In a case that has captivated social media and the internet, the deaths of three Kansas City fans who gathered to watch a Chiefs game on January 7th still remain shrouded in mystery. The bodies of Ricky Johnson, Clayton McGeeney, and David Harrington were discovered two days later in the backyard of a friend's home, sparking intense speculation and public interest.

According to police accounts, the three men went to the home of a friend in Kansas City, Missouri, to watch the game but never made it back home. It was McGeeney's fiancé who became concerned and went to the house when there was no response. Disturbingly, she found an unknown dead body on the back porch and alerted the authorities. Further investigation revealed two more bodies in the backyard.

Despite the unsettling discovery, police have affirmed that there are no obvious signs of foul play at the crime scene. Officer Alayna Gonzalez, spokeswoman for the Kansas City Police Department, stated that the case is still being treated as a death investigation with no evidence pointing to a crime. No one is currently in police custody in connection with the incident.

Investigators have yet to determine the cause of death, leaving open the possibility of drugs or alcohol involvement. Weather records indicate that the temperature on the night of the incident dropped to around 33 degrees (1 degree Celsius). However, the exact circumstances surrounding the deaths remain a mystery.

To shed light on the matter, the Kansas City Police Department is awaiting the cause of death ruling from Frontier Forensics, a private company that provides autopsy services for various counties. Once the results are received, the police will be able to provide further updates on the investigation. However, it is anticipated that it could take up to six more weeks for toxicology reports to be completed.

One aspect contributing to speculation is the homeowner's claim of being unaware that the bodies of his three longtime friends were in his backyard for two days. The homeowner has fully cooperated with the investigation, and his lawyer, John Picerno, has reiterated his client's shock and devastation over the deaths. Picerno stated that the homeowner was unaware of their presence or any need for medical attention until the police arrived.

While questions continue to circulate on social media, such as why the homeowner has not been named a suspect and what is causing the delay in determining the cause of death, the police have made it clear that it could still be several weeks before definitive answers can be provided.

As the investigation unfolds, family members of the three men have expressed their frustrations to local Kansas City media outlets. The case's true-crime overtones have also garnered significant attention on TikTok and other social platforms. The anticipation for answers grows as the public awaits the conclusive findings of this perplexing and tragic incident.
