Multiple Boats Catch Fire at Oyster Cove Marina in South San Francisco

South San Francisco - Three boats caught fire at the Oyster Cove Marina near Oyster Point in South San Francisco on Wednesday morning, according to the South San Francisco Fire Department. The incident occurred at around 7:30 a.m. and multiple agencies responded to the scene.
Deputy Chief Matt Samson reported that the blaze broke out while the three boats were tied together. Fortunately, there were several adults onboard the boats who were successfully rescued from the water. One individual sustained minor injuries and was transported to the hospital, as confirmed by firefighters.
After confirming that there were no occupants on the boats, firefighters focused their efforts on suppressing the fires. Additionally, environmental containment measures were implemented to minimize contamination to the bay. By 11:10 a.m., all the fires had been extinguished.
Photos from the scene captured the extent of the blaze, with several boats engulfed in flames and emitting large amounts of smoke. Investigating the cause of the fire is currently underway, with no immediate indication of foul play stated by Deputy Chief Samson.
