In a remarkable development, two missing girls who were the subject of an Amber Alert have been found safe in Louisiana. The authorities in Louisiana located the girls in the custody of their mother, Dixie Williams, who has now been taken into custody and charged with kidnapping. The Lake County Sheriff's Office provided details on the case, stating that 5-year-old Tillie Claire Williams and 1-year-old Natalia Williams were last seen on Wednesday at 11 p.m. at their residence on Companero Drive in Sorrento.

The foster mother of the girls reported their disappearance on Thursday morning, prompting a swift investigation. Investigators soon determined that the girls were likely with their biological mother, Dixie Williams, who resides in Hendry County, South Florida. The foster mother informed investigators that she believed the girls were taken from the house through their bedroom window.

According to reports, Dixie Williams was upset after her unlimited visitation rights were changed to virtual visits only. The Department of Children and Families had taken custody of the girls from their parents around a year and a half ago. An affidavit stated that the foster mother had allowed Dixie to borrow her car previously, and upon its return, it was discovered that the neighborhood pass had been removed. Investigators suspect that this enabled Dixie to access the gated neighborhood.

Cody Williams, the father of the two girls, spoke to WESH 2 about the incident. He revealed that he learned his daughters were missing when approached by the sheriff's office, saying, "I was approached about 10 a.m. by some sheriffs that asked me if I had my kids. And I told them I didn't have them. You have them." He also mentioned that they had a Zoom visit with their daughters the day before they went missing, and after the Zoom meeting, Dixie called him and expressed her love for him. Despite his concerns, Cody Williams didn't believe that Dixie would intentionally harm the girls.

The agonizing period of separation has taken its toll on the family, particularly Cody Williams' wife, who is a stay-at-home mom. He expressed that she feels lost without her role, stating, "That's her job, and without her job, she feels like she's nothing." Cody Williams also emphasized his desire for the safety and well-being of his wife and children, saying, "What I want is my wife to be safe, and I need my kids to be safe. I know she will die for her kids as I would."

Further details regarding the circumstances of the girls' recovery and the ongoing investigation have not been immediately released. However, this news brings relief and hope to the family, as the missing girls have been found unharmed. The focus now turns to ensuring their continued safety and providing support to all those affected by this ordeal.
