In a recent broadcast of her SiriusXM show, former Fox News host Megyn Kelly expressed her disappointment at the lack of response from Jewish groups during pro-Palestinian protests in New York City. Kelly specifically mentioned the incident at Cooper Union, where Jewish students faced alleged harassment from protesters.

During her show, Kelly stated that she would have liked to see the Jewish students "fight back" and "get in the faces of these protesters." She questioned the absence of Jewish groups in the streets, urging them to show a force and make their voices heard. Kelly also shared her frustration, saying, "Eff these people" and stressed the importance of not backing down.

Amid rising concerns and fear among Jewish communities, Kelly emphasized that America is a country where people should not cower. She expressed her desire to witness a strong response from Jewish groups, urging them to come together and stand up against the protests.

The incident at Cooper Union was captured on amateur cellphone video and went viral on social media. The footage shows a group of Jewish students inside the library while a raucous crowd of protesters can be heard chanting "Free Palestine" outside. Describing the tense situation, one student reported that the protesters specifically targeted spaces occupied by Jewish students and acted aggressively.

According to a Cooper Union representative, the library was temporarily closed for approximately 20 minutes during the planned demonstration by pro-Palestinian students. However, the students chose to remain inside until the protest concluded. The New York Police Department confirmed that there were no injuries or property damage.

In response to initial claims that the students barricaded themselves inside the library, the police later disputed these allegations. Students who participated in the pro-Palestinian rally released a statement, clarifying that the protest was planned and peaceful. They explained that they had peacefully protested outside the building before moving towards the president's office. When they reached the library, they were informed of its closure and continued chanting outside the glass window.

Cooper Union is just one among many college campuses nationwide that have experienced tensions and unrest since the recent conflict between Israel and Hamas. The assault by Hamas on Israel, followed by Israeli retaliation in Gaza, have sparked heated debates and protests across the country.

As the situation continues to unfold, the call for a stronger response from Jewish groups echoes the ongoing dialogue surrounding the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. While some express concern and fear, others advocate for a more assertive approach to defend their beliefs and ensure their voices are heard.

It remains to be seen how Jewish groups will respond to Kelly's call, but her words have ignited a discussion about the role of activism and expression in times of conflict and heightened tensions.
