In a surprising turn of events, law enforcement officers in Tampa, Florida, successfully apprehended a kangaroo that was on the loose in an apartment complex on Thursday morning. The incident, which caught the attention of local residents and authorities alike, unfolded when a person called 911 to report the presence of the marsupial.

According to the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office, officers received a 911 call from a concerned individual who had spotted a kangaroo hopping around their apartment complex in north Tampa. Upon hearing the unique nature of the situation, the dispatcher asked, "911 do you need police, fire, or medical?" To which the female caller replied, "I guess police. There's a kangaroo in my apartment complex."

Footage from the scene provided by the sheriff's office shows the elusive kangaroo hopping around the apartment complex's pool deck. One officer can be heard expressing disbelief, exclaiming, "I actually see a kangaroo. It's kind of a large kangaroo." Determined to capture the marsupial and ensure the safety of residents, the officers carefully approached the kangaroo, eventually corralling it back into captivity within the pool gate area.
