The Joint Arab Islamic Extraordinary Summit, held in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, concluded with a resolution condemning the brutal Israeli aggression against the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank, including Al-Quds Al-Sharif. The summit, which merged the OIC and the Arab League summits, expressed solidarity with the Palestinian cause and called for an end to all illegal Israeli practices.
The resolution, adopted by the leaders of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) and the League of Arab States, emphasized the urgency of addressing the humanitarian catastrophe caused by the Israeli aggression and reaffirmed their commitment to the establishment of a Palestinian state on all national territory.
The summit expressed gratitude to King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman for their hospitality and reiterated their support for all resolutions and international agreements regarding the Palestinian cause.
The leaders welcomed the UN General Assembly Resolution A/ES-10/L.25, which was passed during the tenth emergency session. They stressed the centrality of the Palestinian cause and called for a just, lasting, and comprehensive peace based on the two-state solution as the only way to achieve security and stability in the region.
The resolution condemned all forms of hatred and discrimination, emphasizing the disastrous repercussions of Israel's retaliatory aggression against the Gaza Strip. The summit called for the cessation of aggression, the lifting of the blockade on Gaza, and the immediate entry of humanitarian aid convoys to alleviate the suffering of the Palestinian people.
Furthermore, the summit called on the UN Security Council to enforce international law and put an end to the Israeli occupation, highlighting the responsibility of Israel and all countries in the region to ensure peace and security for the Palestinians.
The resolution also called for the Prosecutor of the International Criminal Court to complete the investigation into war crimes and crimes against humanity committed by Israel, and assigned legal monitoring units to document Israeli violations of international law.
The summit stressed the need to support the Palestinian Liberation Organization (PLO) as the sole legitimate representative of the Palestinian people and called for unity among Palestinian factions. It condemned the Israeli assaults on Jerusalem's holy sites and the extremist hate speech and actions of Israeli ministers.
Additionally, the summit emphasized the importance of ending the Israeli occupation, ceasing all illegal actions that perpetuate the occupation, and fully respecting the rights of the Palestinian people.
The leaders called for an international peace conference to revive the peace process, activate the Arab and Islamic Financial Safety Net, and mobilize international partners for the reconstruction of Gaza.
The resolution assigned the Secretary-General of the Arab League and the OIC to oversee the implementation of the resolution and present a report at their respective upcoming sessions.
With this united stance, the Joint Arab Islamic Summit sends a strong message against Israeli aggression, demanding immediate action to address the humanitarian crisis and work towards a just and comprehensive peace for the long-suffering Palestinian people.
