In the midst of ongoing heavy fighting across the Gaza Strip, the Israeli military has conducted multiple raids in the occupied West Bank. The raids, which began overnight and continued into Saturday, took place in several Palestinian towns and cities including Jenin, Qalqilya, Nablus, Jericho, Ramallah, Bethlehem, and Hebron. According to the Palestinian Prisoner's Society, at least 15 Palestinians were detained in the region.

Tragically, two teenagers were killed by Israeli forces during the raids. The first killing occurred in Dura, in the south of Hebron, while the second took place in the occupied West Bank town of Azzun of Qalqilya. A 25-year-old Palestinian man, Sari Yousef Amr, who was shot earlier on Saturday, also succumbed to his wounds, as reported by the Palestinian news agency Wafa.

The Palestinian Ministry of Health revealed that since the outbreak of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict on October 7, at least 273 people, including 63 children, have been killed in the occupied West Bank. Meanwhile, the death toll in Gaza stands at close to 17,500 people, with the number of casualties in Israel reaching 1,147.

Al Jazeera correspondent Nida Ibrahim reported that the Israeli military has been conducting daily raids in various Palestinian towns and cities in the occupied West Bank. It has been observed that Israel has even detained individuals who were previously released as part of a truce deal between Hamas and Israel, further exacerbating tensions in the region.

The number of Palestinian arrests continues to rise, with reports of mistreatment and beatings of detainees. Recently, a 15-year-old in Jericho was detained for 2.5 hours and eventually released after being subjected to physical assault.

In the first four days of a weeklong truce between Israel and Hamas, Israel released 150 Palestinian prisoners. However, over the same period, at least 133 Palestinians were arrested from East Jerusalem and the West Bank. The total number of arrests since October 7 has exceeded 3,600.

Amidst the raids in Jenin, four brothers of Bilal Diab, a purported member of the Palestinian Islamic Jihad group, were detained. Additionally, a minor was taken into custody from Qalqilya. More detentions took place in Ramallah, Bethlehem, and Hebron.

The Israeli military has also continued its airstrikes in Gaza, targeting various areas including Khan Younis and Rafah. The Ministry of Health in Gaza reported that at least five people were killed in Rafah, a city designated as safe by the Israeli military. The expanding Israeli offensive has forced many of the 1.9 million displaced Palestinians in Gaza to seek refuge in Rafah, resulting in dire conditions and a lack of basic supplies.

With approximately 80 percent of the population in Gaza displaced and shortages of food, fuel, water, and medicine worsening, the situation continues to deteriorate. International organizations, including the World Health Organization, have expressed concern over the high death toll of medical and humanitarian workers in Gaza. A draft resolution has been submitted urging Israel to uphold its obligations under international law to protect medical facilities and personnel.

As the conflict escalates with the Israeli military conducting raids in the West Bank and airstrikes in Gaza, there seems to be no immediate end in sight to the suffering and destruction faced by both Palestinians and Israelis.
