In a recent interview on the podcast "Moby Pod," Hunter Biden, the son of President Joe Biden, spoke out against Republican efforts to use him as a means to destroy his father's presidency. The interview took place just a day after Hunter Biden was charged with tax crimes in California, marking his second indictment.

During the conversation with musician Moby, Hunter Biden expressed his belief that Republicans were targeting him in an attempt to inflict pain on his father and ultimately undermine his presidency. He claimed that these actions were fueled by the personal traumas and deep-seated issues of the individuals involved.

When asked why he does not defend himself more publicly, Hunter Biden revealed that he had been advised against doing so, as it would only add fuel to the fire. Instead, he has chosen to maintain a low profile while under investigation.

Hunter Biden acknowledged that the attacks against him were unlikely to cease as long as his father remained in office and pursued a second term at the White House. He described the daily onslaught as a "struggle" and expressed difficulty in maintaining a well-ordered life amidst the constant attacks.

In recounting his experience, Hunter Biden also shared that he and his family had felt like prisoners due to the harassment by right-wing media. He mentioned instances of being followed and having his family home surveilled, even during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The interview took place as Hunter Biden faces additional legal troubles, with special counsel David Weiss recently indicting him on three felony tax charges related to tax evasion and filing a false return. He also faces six misdemeanor charges for failure to pay taxes between 2016 and 2019.

These charges come at a time when Hunter Biden is already facing scrutiny over his past business dealings, with a subpoena for a deposition in connection with an impeachment inquiry pending. The House Oversight Committee has demanded his testimony in a closed session on December 13, although Hunter Biden has offered to testify publicly.

Earlier this year, Hunter Biden's plea deal in connection with two misdemeanor charges of willful failure to pay taxes and a gun crime fell apart. As the House prepares to vote on formalizing its impeachment inquiry into President Joe Biden, part of the investigation will also review the special counsel's inquiry into Hunter Biden's actions.

Hunter Biden's work for Burisma, a Ukrainian energy company, has been at the center of the GOP's impeachment probe, as Republicans have alleged that President Biden used his government position to benefit his son's business. The White House has consistently denied these allegations.

As the political landscape remains contentious, Hunter Biden continues to face legal battles while standing alongside his father as he serves as President of the United States. The younger Biden remains steadfast in his determination to weather this storm, expressing a commitment to protect his family and maintain his own well-being.
