In a televised address on Sunday, Lebanon's Hezbollah leader Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah declared that Israel has failed to achieve its goals after 100 days of warfare against Hamas. Nasrallah emphasized that Israel was unable to destroy the resistance, including Hamas's government, and that all evacuated areas in the north of the Gaza Strip are currently under Hamas's control. The Hezbollah leader pointed out that Israel was also unsuccessful in halting rocket fire, even from northern Gaza, leading to a situation of failure and despair for its leaders.
Nasrallah further remarked on the impressive resilience displayed by the Gazan people, as they entered their 100th day of resistance. He commended their bravery and ingenuity in confronting the Israeli forces, attributing their remarkable endurance to their legendary fortitude. Nasrallah also highlighted the crucial role played by the media in exposing their achievements to the world, despite Israeli attempts at strict media censorship.
Drawing a comparison to past Israeli conflicts, Nasrallah pointed out that Israel, with less advanced military capabilities, managed to defeat several Arab armies within six days. In contrast, the current conflict has lasted 100 days without a clear Israeli victory. This observation raises questions about Israel's ability to swiftly oust Hamas from Gaza and diminish its power.
Nasrallah touched upon the ongoing tensions in the Red Sea, where the United States, the United Kingdom, and their allies have launched airstrikes targeting Houthi infrastructure in Yemen. He accused the US of attempting to intimidate and halt support for Gaza from members of the resistance axis, who have been backing the Palestinian cause.
Meanwhile, in a tragic development, two Israeli citizens were killed near the northern border by an anti-tank missile fired from Lebanon. The victims, identified as Barak Ayalon, 40, and his mother, Mira, in her 70s, were attacked at their place of residence. In response, the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) targeted an operational command post and another military target belonging to Hezbollah, the Iranian-backed terrorist proxy based in Lebanon.
Amidst the escalating tensions, IDF Chief of Staff Herzi Halevi warned that Hezbollah has the potential to turn the entirety of Lebanon into a war zone. The situation remains highly volatile, as both sides continue to exchange attacks and rhetoric in the ongoing conflict.
