As the region prepares for a rainy weekend, residents are urged to stay vigilant as heavy rain, flooding, and strong winds are anticipated to hit the area on Sunday and last through Monday afternoon.
According to weather reports, Sunday will commence with cloudy skies, with some areas experiencing drizzle. However, as the day progresses, showers are expected to gradually appear by late morning and early afternoon.
By dinner time on Sunday, the rain is forecasted to become widespread throughout the region, and its intensity is expected to increase during the evening. The heaviest downpour is projected to occur from midnight until about 6 a.m. on Monday.
Monday morning commuters should be prepared for continued rainfall, as the storm gradually passes northward. However, by lunchtime on Monday, the rain is predicted to start receding from the region, although a few lingering showers are still possible.
Given the recent rain from last week, the ground is already saturated, raising concerns about potential flooding. Therefore, it is imperative for residents to remain vigilant and take necessary precautions.
While the rain may subside by Monday afternoon, there is a slight chance for a few showers and even some snow overnight from Monday into Tuesday, primarily in the northern and western areas affected by another approaching disturbance.
As of now, the forecast does not indicate any significant snowfall accumulation.
