In preparation for an impending severe storm, various government offices and facilities across Northeast Florida have made the decision to close their doors to the public. Additionally, the City Council meeting scheduled for Tuesday has been postponed to Wednesday at 5 p.m. Meanwhile, the Duval County Courthouse and all Duval County Clerk of Courts offices, including the Clerk's beaches branch, have also closed their operations on Tuesday.

In St. Johns County, yard waste collection has been temporarily halted on Tuesday to allow service providers to focus on completing garbage and recycling collection promptly. The county has requested residents to secure or bring inside their trash and recycling bins after collection. Yard waste that would have been collected on Tuesday can be brought to Tillman Ridge or Stratton Road Transfer Stations free of charge.

Furthermore, St. Johns County government offices will close at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, resuming standard hours on Wednesday morning. Specific service updates have been announced in the county, including the closure of beach driving at 1 p.m., reopening on Wednesday morning. Similarly, the Stratton Road and Tillman Ridge Transfer Stations will close at 2 p.m., reopening on Wednesday.

In the city of St. Augustine, all city offices will close at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, with normal operating hours set to resume on Wednesday. Trash collection for Tuesday, including yard debris, will occur on Wednesday alongside regular Wednesday pickup. However, there might be potential delays depending on the storm's conditions.

Additionally, health departments, district offices, CARE clinics, and COVID testing sites in the 8-county Coastal Health District will close at noon on Tuesday.

The Cumberland Island National Seashore in St. Marys has initiated a mandatory evacuation, with all campers, visitors, staff, and volunteers required to leave the island on Tuesday. The park will remain closed through Tuesday and reopen on Wednesday, while the ferry service will resume on Thursday.

As the storm approaches, residents are advised to monitor updates from local authorities and follow safety precautions.
