DUBAI, November 29, 2023 - Four Palestinians, including two children, were fatally shot by Israeli forces during a raid in the occupied West Bank city of Jenin, as confirmed by the Palestinian health ministry, WAFA.

The victims were identified as Adam Samer Al-Ghoul, an 8-year-old child, and Basil Suleiman Abu Al-Wafa, a 15-year-old teenager. According to the ministry, they were both killed by occupation forces in Jenin. The incident sparked outrage among local residents and the larger Palestinian community.

The tragedy continued to unfold as WAFA reported that two more Palestinians, Muhammad Jamal Zubaidi and Wissam Ziad Hanoun from Jenin camp, were also killed by Israeli forces. The occupation forces reportedly took possession of their bodies.

In response to the incident, the Israeli army released a statement suggesting that Zubaidi, a known senior Islamic Jihad operative, and Hanoun were killed during a joint counterterrorism operation carried out by the Israel Defense Forces (IDF), Israel Security Agency (ISA), and Israel Border Police in the Jenin Camp. The Israeli army described Zubaidi as a key figure in the Jenin Camp, involved in various acts of terrorism, including shooting attacks and promoting additional terror activities.

The raid and subsequent deaths have further escalated tensions between Palestinians and Israeli forces in the already volatile region. The Palestinian Authority and international human rights organizations have condemned the incident, calling for an immediate investigation into the killings.

Incidents of violence and clashes have been on the rise in the occupied territories, leading to increased calls for peace negotiations and an end to the Israeli occupation. The situation in Jenin remains tense, with local residents demanding justice for the victims and urging for an end to the violence.

The international community has also been closely monitoring the situation, with calls for Israel to exercise restraint in its use of force and to engage in peaceful dialogue to address the underlying issues fueling the conflict.

As investigations into the incident unfold, the Palestinian community mourns the loss of these lives, especially young children whose futures were tragically cut short. The incident serves as a stark reminder of the fragile situation in the occupied West Bank and the urgent need for a peaceful resolution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.
