In an exclusive report by The Atlantic, former President Donald Trump has been revealed to have launched a profanity-laden attack against billionaire entrepreneur and investor Peter Thiel. The verbal altercation came after Thiel declined to donate to Trump's presidential campaign, marking a significant rift between the two prominent figures.

Thiel, the co-founder of PayPal and chairman of Palantir Technologies, has gained a reputation for backing controversial Republican candidates. Notably, he has supported Senate candidate Blake Masters from Arizona and Ohio Senator JD Vance, each receiving more than $10 million of Thiel's financial support.

According to The Atlantic's in-depth feature on Thiel, in April 2023, Trump finally managed to reach Thiel after several failed attempts to communicate. Trump reminded Thiel of his previous support for Masters and Vance, requesting a similar donation for his campaign. Thiel, however, declined the request, prompting Trump to express his disappointment.

Months later, The Atlantic reports that rumors reached Thiel regarding Trump's anger towards him. Trump allegedly referred to Thiel as a "fucking scumbag" and discouraged Masters from running for Senate again, as detailed in the magazine's profile.

Insider reached out to Trump's presidential campaign for comment, but received no immediate response during non-working hours in the United States.

During the interview with The Atlantic, Thiel also criticized the Trump administration, highlighting its inability to effectively manage the government. When questioned about allegations that he was an FBI informant, Thiel refused to provide any comment, according to the magazine.

The tense exchange between Thiel and Trump unveils the strained relationship between the former president and one of Silicon Valley's most influential figures. As Thiel continues to support Republican candidates, his decision not to contribute to Trump's campaign illustrates a growing divide within the party.
