In a rally held in Manchester, New Hampshire, former president Donald Trump called for the removal of a man from his rally on Saturday night. The incident was captured on video, showing the Trump supporter being shoved by fellow attendees, prompting Mr. Trump to request his ejection from the podium.
"You can get him out of here. Get out of here. Go ahead," Mr. Trump can be heard saying in the footage. "You can throw him out."
Security guards then escorted the man out of the venue, as he faced assaults from other attendees. Mr. Trump referred to him as "a disturbed person" from the stage, stating that the incident showed that politics was becoming serious.
The rally took place as Mr. Trump campaigns ahead of New Hampshire's primary election next week. Earlier this month, he won the Iowa caucus, with Florida Governor Ron DeSantis coming in second.
However, the campaigning has not been without slip-ups. On Friday, Mr. Trump mistakenly confused former United Nations ambassador Nikki Haley with Nancy Pelosi, the former Democratic Speaker of the House of Representatives. He blamed Haley for the lack of security response during the January 6 riot.
Taking advantage of the situation, Ms. Haley questioned Mr. Trump's mental ability ahead of the election. She emphasized the importance of having a mentally fit person in the presidency, implying doubts about Mr. Trump's suitability.
This incident of ejecting attendees is not new for Mr. Trump. During his 2016 presidential campaign, he openly stated his desire to "punch" a protester in the face at a Las Vegas rally. He further mentioned that in the past, the person would have been carried out on a stretcher, highlighting his frustration at being unable to push back forcefully.
As the primary election in New Hampshire approaches, these incidents continue to shape the political landscape. It remains to be seen how they will impact the broader narrative surrounding the candidates in the race.
