In recent days, Pennsylvania Senator John Fetterman has become the target of criticism from far-left activists who are protesting his support for Israel amid the ongoing conflict with Hamas. Fetterman, a progressive Democrat, has garnered backlash for his "trollish style" and unwavering advocacy for Israel, particularly in the wake of the recent terrorist attacks.

The senator's firm pro-Israel stance has disappointed and angered the left-wing of the Democratic Party, who expected him to align with their anti-war sentiments. Activists have accused Fetterman of dismissing the growing anti-war movement and have labeled his support for Israel a "gutting betrayal."

Beth Miller, the political director of far-left group Jewish Voice for Peace Action, expressed her shock at the level of disdain Fetterman has shown towards the anti-war movement. Former aides to Fetterman have also expressed their disappointment, stating that his position on Israel is perplexing, and they expected a more empathetic response.

Some activists recount incidents where Fetterman mocked them during protests, exacerbating tensions. One such incident occurred when Fetterman refused to endorse a cease-fire between Israel and Hamas. Brittany DeBarros, a member of an anti-war group, recalled being prodded by Fetterman and disputed the notion that activists verbally attacked him first.

During a recent protest outside the Russell Senate Office Building, Fetterman faced boos and shouts of "Shame!" as he waved the Israeli flag. Progressive protesters from the veterans group About Face, who called for a cease-fire, confronted Fetterman, further intensifying the dissatisfaction.

Critics of Fetterman have questioned his motives, with one member of the anti-Israel group IfNotNow suggesting that he has been influenced by pro-Israel political action committees. The volunteer claimed that Fetterman had received significant donations from the Democratic Majority for Israel, which opposes political solutions at this time.

Fox News Digital reached out to Fetterman's office for comment, but they have not responded thus far. The senator's supporters contend that his pro-Israel stance has always been consistent, suggesting that Fetterman's position is influenced by the strong Jewish population in Pennsylvania and the local response to the recent Hamas attacks.

It remains to be seen how these criticisms will impact Fetterman's political future and his relationship with the far-left activists who have taken issue with his support for Israel. The divide within the Democratic Party on this issue continues to widen, with Fetterman's actions drawing both praise and condemnation.
