Article:
In a breaking news update, evacuation warnings have been issued for coastal areas in Santa Cruz County due to severe flooding. Coastal residents are urged to be prepared to leave if an evacuation order is issued by the Santa Cruz County Sheriff's Office.

The situation became critical as flooding caused the closure of several roads in the affected areas. Coastview Drive and East Cliff in Santa Cruz are currently closed, and large waves crashing on 17 Mile Drive between Spanish Bay and Bird Rock have led to the closure of that road as well, leaving behind scattered boulders.

The Santa Cruz Wharf and beaches have also been closed until further notice, affecting popular spots such as Cowells Beach. The closure extends from just south of Clubhouse Drive all along Beach Drive and Las Olas Drive, up to just north of Oak-Hill Road. Residents in this zone are urged to follow instructions and prepare for a potential evacuation order.

Monterey County also experienced flooding, resulting in road closures. Scenic Road and Valley View Ave, as well as 17th and Carmelo Way, have been closed due to flooding, making it inaccessible for vehicles. Additionally, Scenic Road from Stuart Way to Martin Way is also closed.

The situation is being closely monitored by local authorities and emergency services. It is essential for residents and visitors to stay informed and heed any further warnings or instructions issued by the authorities regarding the evacuation process and road closures.

In terms of weather conditions, the current view outside shows flooding and road closures in the affected areas. High temperatures for today and the next 8 days are mapped out, both for the coastal areas and inland areas.

Traffic updates reveal the extent of the road closures, including Scenic Road between Carmelo Street and Valley View, as well as 17 Mile Drive between Bird Rock Road and Spanish Bay Road. Beach Drive is closed at Rio Del Mar Boulevard.

Residents and travelers in Santa Cruz and Monterey counties are advised to stay updated on the latest news and follow official instructions to ensure their safety during this period of severe flooding.
