Loudoun County Parkway, Virginia - A small, private aircraft made an emergency landing on the Loudoun County Parkway, prompting a swift response from authorities. The incident occurred around 12:51 p.m. local time, and Virginia State Police were immediately dispatched to the scene.

The aircraft involved has been identified as Southern Airways Express flight 246, a single-engine Cessna 208 Caravan. The plane had departed from Dulles International Airport in Virginia at approximately 12:15 p.m. on Friday, January 19.

According to official reports from the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), the Cessna experienced difficulties during its flight and was forced to make a hard landing on Route 606, also known as the Loudoun County Parkway. At the time of the incident, there were seven individuals on board the aircraft.

In response to the emergency, local authorities in Loudoun County have taken charge of the situation, with Loudoun County responders managing the scene. Despite the incident, Dulles Airport has remained open for both takeoffs and landings, ensuring minimal disruptions to air travel.

Currently, the southbound lanes on the Loudoun County Parkway have been closed as emergency services work to assess the situation and clear the scene. Drivers traveling in the northbound lanes should anticipate traffic and potential delays due to the ongoing response efforts.
