In the aftermath of a cold front that passed through Central Florida early Tuesday, residents can expect a significant drop in temperatures for the remainder of the week. Although conditions in the Orlando area remain mostly dry, there will be lingering cloud cover until mid-morning. Throughout the day, west winds will shift to a northerly direction, with speeds of 10-15 mph and gusts reaching up to 25 mph.
Afternoon highs are not expected to rise significantly, only reaching around 70 degrees across most of the area, while northern neighborhoods may experience temperatures in the upper 60s. However, the coldest morning of the week is forecasted to be early Wednesday, with wake-up temperatures dipping into the mid-40s for areas north of the I-4 corridor. Southern counties can expect slightly milder temperatures in the low 50s.
As we progress through the week, there will be a gradual warmup, with temperatures climbing into the mid-70s by the end of the workweek. However, this warm trend may be short-lived as cloud cover is anticipated to increase late Friday due to a strengthening cold front approaching the region.
Saturday will see the arrival of a stream of moisture, resulting in an increase in rain chances from north to south. Models suggest a marginal risk for excessive rainfall, creating the potential for localized flooding. Consequently, temperatures during the weekend are expected to cool down, remaining in the upper 60s to low 70s.
The forecast showcases the fluctuating weather patterns characteristic of Florida, where temperature changes and precipitation become significant factors for residents and visitors alike. Although the beginning of the week brings cooler temperatures, a warming trend is on the horizon, followed by the possibility of rain and cooler conditions over the weekend. As always, the weather remains unpredictable, and it is advisable to check for updates as the week progresses.
