Claudia Conway, the outspoken daughter of former Donald Trump adviser Kellyanne Conway, expressed her appreciation for the states of Maine and Colorado, which have both removed Trump's name from their 2024 primary ballots. The move comes as Trump faces legal challenges seeking to bar his candidacy based on his alleged involvement in the January 6th Capitol riot.

Maine recently became the second state, following Colorado, to prevent Trump's participation in its March primary. Citing Trump's alleged role in the insurrection as grounds for their decision, the states argue that Section 3 of the 14th Amendment disqualifies individuals who have engaged in insurrection from holding public office.

Trump, the frontrunner for the 2024 Republican presidential nomination, maintains his innocence and denies any involvement in the insurrection. He accuses those filing lawsuits against him of attempting to interfere with the election process. The Colorado Republican Party has filed an appeal against the state's decision, which could bring the case to the U.S Supreme Court.

In a post on social media platform X (formerly Twitter), Claudia Conway expressed her admiration for Maine and Colorado, but did not disclose the reasons behind her preference. Claudia Conway, who is known for her vocal opposition to Trump and his presidency, has been critical of conservative political pursuits, including the potential reversal of Roe v. Wade.

This is not the first time Claudia Conway has spoken out against Trump. She has previously stated her anticipation of the former president being indicted for various charges including alleged hush money payments to adult film star Stormy Daniels, attempts to overturn the 2020 election result in Georgia, involvement in the Capitol riot, and mishandling of classified documents at his Mar-a-Lago resort.

Claudia Conway's father, George Conway, a co-founder of The Lincoln Project, an anti-Trump political action committee, is also known for his criticism of the former president. He recently hinted at the possibility of appearing on a show to discuss the "Trump indictment" when it occurs.

As of now, Trump has maintained his innocence in each case and has not responded to requests for comment. Newsweek has reached out to him via email for further clarification.

The removal of Trump's name from the 2024 primary ballots of Maine and Colorado highlights the ongoing legal battles surrounding his eligibility to run for office again. These developments mirror the deep political divisions that persist as the country grapples with the aftermath of the Capitol riot and its implications for future elections.
