Titled "America's 250 Best Hospitals," the report analyzed over 45 million Medicare Medical claims and evaluated more than 4,500 hospitals nationwide to determine the top facilities offering exceptional care.

The researchers at Healthgrades measured patient outcomes and risk factors for more than 30 common procedures across different patient groups, providing valuable insights into hospitals' quality of care. According to the report, hospitals that made the prestigious list of 250 facilities represent the top 5 percent for overall clinical excellence in the nation. Among them, 14 Illinois hospitals were recognized, with three of them ranking in the top 50 nationwide.

Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana, Ascension Alexian Brothers in Elk Grove Village, and Advocate Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge stood out for their exceptional performance and made it to the report's top 50. Notably, Javon Bea Hospital - Rockton, located in Rockford, secured a place in the top 100.

The remaining 10 Illinois hospitals that made it onto the "America's 250 Best Hospitals" list for 2024 were Advocate Christ Hospital and Medical Center in Oak Lawn, Advocate Good Shepherd Hospital in Barrington, Ascension Saint Alexius in Hoffman Estates, Evanston Hospital in Evanston, Northwestern Medicine Delnor Hospital in Geneva, Northwestern Medicine Lake Forest Hospital in Lake Forest, Northwestern Medicine McHenry Hospital in McHenry, Northwestern Memorial Hospital in Chicago, OSF Saint Joseph Medical Center in Bloomington, and The University of Chicago Medical Center in Chicago.
