The highly anticipated domestic assault trial of actor Jonathan Majors commenced on November 29 in New York City, with Meagan Good, fellow actor and rumored girlfriend, offering support as she held hands with Majors. Majors has pleaded not guilty to assault charges filed by the district attorney's office on behalf of an altercation involving his ex-girlfriend, Grace Jabbari.

The trial's first day primarily focused on jury selection and the judge's decision to preliminarily seal certain evidence that could be prejudicial to Majors. The sealed evidence may be subject to public scrutiny in the future if deemed admissible. Good, clad in a black dress and a long gray coat, accompanied Majors, who wore a gray suit and a lengthy trench coat, as they entered the courthouse. This appearance follows their previous court attendance together in late June.

According to NPR, Jabbari accused Majors, aged 34, of assaulting her during a heated dispute inside a taxi cab in New York on March 25. Allegedly, the altercation erupted after Jabbari discovered a text message from another woman on Majors' cellphone. The situation escalated, with Jabbari claiming that Majors slapped her, twisted her arm, and violently grabbed her hand. The encounter reportedly left marks on Jabbari's face and a cut behind her ear. Subsequently, Majors was arrested and charged with multiple counts of assault and harassment.

Interestingly, it was Majors himself who dialed 911, reporting that an allegedly intoxicated and hysterical Jabbari had attacked him in the taxi. His attorney, Priya Chaudhry, vehemently maintained Majors' innocence, contending that the NYPD had probable cause to arrest Jabbari for assaulting Majors.

Sometime later, Jabbari was arrested by the NYPD on October 25 and charged with criminal mischief and misdemeanor assault. However, the Manhattan district attorney's office determined that the case against her lacked prosecutorial merit and declined to pursue charges, as reported by People magazine.

Fans of Majors and Good expressed a mixture of shock and curiosity when an Entertainment Tonight clip of the couple entering the Manhattan courthouse was shared on Instagram by The Neighborhood Talk. Observers also spotted the pair leaving the courtroom and entering a black vehicle, capturing attention and generating buzz in social media comments.

The comments included references to the reality series "Love After Lockup," as some fans drew parallels between Good's previous role as a preacher's wife and her current support for Majors in a legal setting. "From preachers wife to love after lockup.... Chileeee these crazy times," wrote one commenter, while another echoed the sentiment, saying, "From church bells to jail cells. she gon stick by em." Others humorously remarked, "From the church house to the court house."

Good and Majors' public appearance at the trial comes after Good's divorce from Pastor DeVon Franklin in 2022. The divorce, announced due to "irreconcilable differences," marked the end of their almost decade-long marriage. Both parties have openly discussed their healing journey in various interviews. Good emphasized that the decision to part ways was not made lightly, while Franklin revealed times of emotional vulnerability, admitting to tears before sleep.

It is expected that opening arguments for Jonathan Majors' trial will commence on Thursday, November 30, marking a critical phase in the legal proceedings as both sides present their case to the court. The trial will further shed light on the incident involving Majors and Jabbari, determining the outcome and potential ramifications for the individuals involved.
