According to the Rolling Stone report, LavaGS, who is now 20 years old, has a longstanding relationship with Tyson dating back to when he was a teenager and she was in her early 20s. They frequently communicated through various platforms, such as Discord and Twitter, engaging in conversations that involved crude and sexual humor. LavaGS eventually joined MrBeastGaming, a gaming-centric channel affiliated with Tyson, as a production assistant, where he worked on moderating aspects of the channel and even appeared in some videos. Reportedly, Tyson played a role in helping LavaGS secure the job opportunity.

Initially, LavaGS defended Tyson against the allegations and insisted that the videos spreading the accusations were "massive lies and twisting the truth." However, he has since altered his stance and publicly commended Donaldson's actions against Tyson. LavaGS clarified that he doesn't believe he was groomed but expressed his belief that further investigation is necessary for other allegations.

Since the allegations gained wider attention, several YouTube and streaming personalities have spoken out about the issue. Unfortunately, some online communities have exploited the controversy to spread transphobic rhetoric against Tyson, deadnaming her and suggesting her identity as a trans woman played a role in the alleged misconduct.
