**Yankees Ban Fans for Interfering with Mookie Betts During Game 4**

The New York Yankees have decided to ban two fans from attending Game 5 of the World Series after they were involved in an incident with Los Angeles Dodgers outfielder Mookie Betts. The fans, identified as Austin Capobianco and John Peter, were ejected from Game 4 at Yankee Stadium for making physical contact with Betts, and the team has now prohibited both from returning for Wednesday's game.

In a statement, the Yankees emphasized the importance of safety and security for players, fans, and staff at Yankee Stadium. The organization condemned the behavior of Capobianco and Peter, highlighting that passionate support should never cross into actions that compromise player safety. The statement also reiterated the Yankees' and Major League Baseball's zero-tolerance policy towards such misconduct.

The incident occurred during the first inning of the Yankees' 11-4 victory, when Betts attempted to catch a ball near the right foul pole. As Betts’ glove extended into the crowd, Capobianco and Peter grabbed at it, causing the ball to come loose. The interference was immediately recognized, and both fans were escorted out of the stadium.

Initially, Capobianco and Peter believed they'd be allowed to return for Game 5, as they informed ESPN’s Jesse Rogers. However, after the team announced the ban, the Yankees made it clear that any attempt by the two to re-enter would result in their arrest. The duration of the ban remains uncertain.

Tony Clark, executive director of the MLB Players Association, also issued a statement underscoring the seriousness with which player safety is taken. Clark confirmed ongoing communication with league security officials to monitor the response and measures ensuring player protection.

As the Yankees aim to extend the series with another win on Wednesday, the incident underscores the balance between fan enthusiasm and maintaining a safe environment for all involved.
