In a shocking turn of events, Natania Reuben, a woman who was injured in a nightclub shooting over two decades ago, has vowed to go to extreme lengths to prove that rapper Sean 'Diddy' Combs was her attacker. Ms. Reuben, who was at Club New York in Manhattan, New York in December 1999 when the shooting occurred, now claims that she is willing to have doctors remove a piece of the bullet still embedded in her head as evidence, even if it puts her life at risk.
The incident, which started with a conflict involving Diddy, his then-girlfriend Jennifer Lopez, his bodyguard Anthony "Wolf" Jones, and rapper Jamal "Shyne" Barrow, resulted in gunfire, leaving three people injured. While charges were quickly dropped against Lopez, Diddy and Jones were eventually acquitted of all charges after a trial in 2001. Barrow, on the other hand, was convicted of assault and gun possession, serving a 10-year prison sentence.
Now, more than 20 years later, the case is back in the spotlight following a lawsuit filed by Rodney "Lil Rod" Jones against Diddy in February. Mr. Jones alleges that he was subjected to unwanted advances by Diddy's associates and was forced to engage in relations with sex workers hired by Combs. Furthermore, he claims that Diddy lied about his involvement in the nightclub shooting, stating that Diddy confessed to bribing witnesses and jurors during the criminal case.
Ms. Reuben expressed her hope that Diddy and the others arrested that night will be held accountable for their actions. She highlighted the discrepancy between the treatment she received as a victim compared to the swift release of Jennifer Lopez. "When I was fighting for my life on the operating table, they had already let Miss Lopez go and dropped her charges," Reuben lamented. She emphasized her gratitude for surviving the fateful day and referred to herself as a "living miracle."
Diddy and his legal team have vehemently denied all allegations made against him, dismissing the lawsuits as money grabs and labeling the accusations as baseless and sickening. However, the recent headlines surrounding the case gained further attention when federal agents raided Diddy's residences in California and Florida. The raids were part of an ongoing investigation conducted by Homeland Security, with assistance from HSI Los Angeles, HSI Miami, and local law enforcement partners.
Aaron Dyers, Diddy's attorney, condemned the raids, criticizing the use of military-level force during the search warrants execution. Both Diddy and Jennifer Lopez have yet to make any public comments regarding the recent developments.
As the legal battle continues, it remains to be seen whether Natania Reuben's willingness to undergo risky medical procedures will provide the evidence she seeks to prove Diddy's involvement in the nightclub shooting. The case serves as a reminder of the lasting impact and enduring quest for justice stemming from even the most notorious incidents.
