West Virginia women's basketball coach, Mark Kellogg, has decided to tone down his previous trash talk about Iowa and star player Caitlin Clark as his team prepares to face the Hawkeyes in the second round of the NCAA Tournament. Kellogg's comments about wanting to send Clark "packing" generated attention in the college basketball world.

Addressing the issue, Kellogg clarified his intentions, stating, "I'm not a trash-talking... I wasn't out to get Caitlin Clark. It's not Mark Kellogg versus Caitlin Clark." He explained that someone else in the room had used the "packing" line, but the narrative quickly changed on social media, making it appear as if Kellogg was specifically calling out Clark.

Clark, who recently scored an impressive 27 points against Holy Cross, will play her final game in Iowa City before heading to the WNBA later this year. As the No. 8-seeded Mountaineers prepare to face Iowa, they are well aware of the challenge that awaits them.

In their first-round game against Princeton, West Virginia emerged victorious with a 63-53 win, largely thanks to Madison St. Rose's impressive 22-point performance. The Mountaineers will now look to pull off a major upset in the second round, but they are fully aware that it won't be an easy task.

As the story unfolds, basketball fans are eagerly anticipating the highly anticipated matchup between West Virginia and Iowa. The spotlight will be on Caitlin Clark as she plays her final game in Iowa City, while West Virginia aims to prove they belong among the tournament's top contenders.

Both teams will undoubtedly give their all on the court, and fans can expect an intense and thrilling battle during the second round of the NCAA Tournament.
