### AEW Secures Major Multi-Year Deal with Warner Bros. Discovery
All Elite Wrestling (AEW) has penned a substantial multi-year deal with Warner Bros. Discovery, significantly boosting its presence across multiple platforms. Although the financial details were not disclosed, sources indicate the agreement is valued at over $150 million annually.
Under the new agreement, AEW's prominent shows "Dynamite" and "Collision" will continue to air on TBS and TNT, respectively. For the first time since AEW's inception in 2019, the programming will also be available to stream live on Max for U.S. subscribers, with on-demand access starting in January 2025.
“We are honored to announce the extension of our incredible partnership with Warner Bros. Discovery,” said AEW CEO, GM, and head of creative Tony Khan. He praised the tradition of iconic wrestling events on TBS and TNT and highlighted the new legacy AEW will create through live streaming on Max for years to come. Khan acknowledged the support from individuals like David Zaslav and Kathleen Finch, as well as AEW fans, talent, and staff.
The expanded deal allows for enhanced distribution rights on social media and opens possibilities for new AEW programming on both linear and digital platforms. Additionally, AEW live pay-per-view events will be available on Max at a discounted rate starting later in 2025, with exclusive marketing and promotions on the platform.
“Tony Khan and the entire AEW team have been incredible partners. We are thrilled to strike this expanded agreement to deliver amazing new AEW content and stories to TNT and TBS, as well as bring the thrilling live action to Max for the first time,” said Kathleen Finch, chairman and CEO of US Networks for Warner Bros. Discovery. Finch emphasized their commitment to creating fresh and authentic experiences for AEW's passionate fanbase while introducing them to an expanding lineup of high-action sports and entertainment.
AEW's flagship show, "Dynamite," which premiered on TNT in October 2019, has become the top cable entertainment series on Wednesdays for adults 18-49. "Collision" has also performed well, ranking in the top five for its Saturday timeslot in the same demographic.
Bernie Cahill, founding partner of Activist Artists Management, recalled Tony Khan’s initial vision for disrupting the wrestling industry and lauded the renewal with Warner Bros. Discovery as a significant validation of Khan's leadership.
The announcement of AEW’s extended deal comes amidst rising costs of sports broadcasting rights. AEW's main competitor, WWE, recently secured new contracts for its shows "Raw," "SmackDown," and "NXT," with "Raw" slated to start airing on Netflix in January 2025.
