Vice President Kamala Harris Faces Criticism and Calls to Step Aside

In a recent poll, Americans have expressed overwhelmingly negative opinions of Vice President Kamala Harris, leading to calls for her to "step aside" in a scathing column by Washington Post columnist Kathleen Parker. The column discussed Harris's disappointing performance and how she has become a burden to the Democratic ticket.
Parker noted that Harris was initially chosen for her role based on being Black and female, which was seen as a source of job security. However, as her performance has fallen short of expectations, President Biden cannot risk alienating his base by firing her. Parker underscored the seriousness of the situation, taking into account Biden's diminishing faculties and increasing physical frailty.
The column also criticized Harris for her perceived tendency to remain quiet, possibly to avoid embarrassing her boss with inane and rambling remarks, as well as an idiosyncratic laugh. Parker argued that these behaviors have contributed to Harris's unpopularity with voters and suggested that, should she assume the presidency in an eventuality, her approval ratings are unlikely to spike.
Parker made it clear that her perspective was not driven by partisanship, citing her previous call for Sarah Palin to step aside in 2008. She implored Vice President Harris to consider the best interest of the country and resign from her position, urging her to make the decision "for your country."
A USA Today/Suffolk University poll conducted in early March reflected the negative sentiment towards Vice President Harris, revealing that approximately 52% of registered voters disapprove of her performance in office. The survey also found that Harris is more unpopular than both President Biden and former President Trump.
In response to the column and the poll results, Vice President Harris recently expressed her readiness to serve during a media interview. However, the article does not mention whether she directly addressed the criticisms made by Parker or the poll's findings.
Fox News Digital reached out to the Vice President's office for comment, but it is unclear if a response has been received at the time of reporting.
As opinions on Vice President Kamala Harris remain divided, her future in office continues to face scrutiny and calls for her to step aside, putting the spotlight on the challenges surrounding her role within the Democratic ticket.
