### Verizon Experiences Widespread Service Disruption

Early Monday, more than 80,000 reports were logged on a site documenting issues with Verizon's network. Verizon has acknowledged the situation and is working to swiftly resolve the problem. In a statement to NBC News, the telecommunications giant said, "We are aware of an issue impacting service for some customers. Our engineers are engaged and we are working quickly to identify and solve the issue."

Verizon's customer support account on X was actively responding to distressed users, offering assistance and urging people to send direct messages to address specific concerns. "We understand the importance of staying connected, and would be happy to take a look at what's occurring. Please send us a DM, and we can jump right in!" one response read. Another post mentioned, "Hello! I know how frustrating this may be and how important it is to have reliable service. Send us a DM to address any concerns you may have today."

The issue even extended to accessing Verizon's support page on their website. A post on X by Verizon Support quickly garnered hundreds of responses by mid-morning, indicating a broad impact.

Many users experiencing the disruption reported seeing their phones displaying "SOS" mode. This message, appearing on iPhones, indicates that the device is not connected to a cellular network but can still make emergency calls through other networks.
