According to the latest weather update, the local area can expect a seasonably cooler afternoon with temperatures reaching the mid and upper 60s. The clouds are expected to thin out later in the day, providing the opportunity for some sunshine, particularly closer to the lakeshore.
While a weak disturbance will move south of the area, most of the region should remain dry on Monday. However, residents should keep an eye out as rain and thunderstorms are predicted to return late on Tuesday. The Storm Prediction Center (SPC) has issued a Slight Risk for severe weather for the western parts of the area as a line of strong to severe storms is expected to move in late Tuesday into early Wednesday.
As the week unfolds, it is expected to be an unsettled one, with only a couple of mostly dry days. No day is projected to be a complete washout, with the forecast calling for partly to mostly cloudy skies and a few passing showers or rumbles of thunder at times.
Heading into Mother's Day Weekend, cooler temperatures will return, with a range of about 5 degrees below average. Despite the cooler conditions, the weekend is still expected to offer opportunities for outdoor activities, as the weather will be mostly dry.
It is advised for residents to stay tuned for the latest updates on the developing weather patterns and to remain cautious of all possible weather threats.
