A 22-year-old University of Missouri student, Riley Strain, has gone missing after a night out in Nashville, Tennessee. Strain was last seen by his friends at 9:52 p.m. on Friday night after drinking at a bar in the city's Broadway area. His friends reported that they last saw him being kicked out of Luke Bryan's bar, according to Nashville police.
Strain, who was visiting Nashville with his fraternity brothers for their formal, had been sending pictures to his mother, Michelle Whiteid, during the night, excited about the bars they were visiting. However, surveillance videos tell a different story. At 9:46 p.m., a video captured Strain stumbling down a street alone, and in another angle, he could be seen running and falling down.
Further footage released by Nashville police showed Strain at 9:47 p.m., crossing the street with a group of people, wearing a two-toned shirt and checking his phone. He paused for a moment, changed directions, and then continued down the street behind the group.
Strain's family, deeply worried about his safety, is pleading for help in bringing their son back home. His father, Ryan Gilbert, stated, "He's a good kid. He was down here looking forward to a fun weekend. We want to bring him back home safe."
Search efforts are currently underway in Nashville to locate Strain. The University of Missouri and the Delta Chi Fraternity, to which he belongs, have expressed their concern for Strain's wellbeing and offered support to his family during this challenging time.
Riley Strain is a senior at the University of Missouri, majoring in business and interdisciplinary studies. The university's interim vice chancellor for Student Affairs, Angela King Taylor, extended her thoughts and support to Strain's family as the search continues.
Authorities are urging anyone with information about Strain's whereabouts to come forward and contact the Nashville Police Department. The family and friends of Riley Strain remain hopeful for his safe return.
