The excitement is building as UFC 306 gets a brand new title and date for its much-awaited debut at Sphere in Las Vegas. Renamed as Riyadh Season Noche UFC, the pay-per-view event will take place on September 14, coinciding with Mexican Independence Day, at the city's newest major attraction.
This historic event will mark the first time in UFC history that a title partner has joined as a sponsor. UFC CEO Dana White expressed his enthusiasm, stating, "This will be one of the biggest sporting events of all-time. What we're going to pull off at Sphere will never be done again. This will be a once-in-a-lifetime experience for sports fans, as well as an incredible tribute to the Mexican people and their contributions to combat sports."
The partnership between UFC and Saudi Arabia has been strengthened, with the Saudi General Entertainment Authority and Turki Alalshikh taking on the role of title partner. White commended their involvement, highlighting the global interest in the event. "We're thrilled that they have stepped up to make this the greatest event in the history of combat sports. Riydah Season Noche UFC will be unforgettable."
UFC has recently ventured into Saudi Arabia, holding a successful Fight Night event earlier this month. The partnership has proved fruitful, with plans for another UFC event in Saudi Arabia scheduled for 2025.
Last September, UFC delivered a thrilling Noche UFC event at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. The card featured an intense battle between flyweight champion Alexa Grasso and Valentina Shevchenko, ending in a draw. Fans are eagerly anticipating their trilogy fight, which is expected to take place on the Sept. 14 card. However, Grasso hinted that Shevchenko may not be her opponent for the event, leaving fans curious about what is in store for the highly anticipated matchup.
As the stages set for the debut of Riyadh Season Noche UFC, sports fans worldwide are gearing up for an extraordinary evening of combat sports. With the new title partner and the promise of an unforgettable experience, this event is poised to make history and celebrate the rich heritage of Mexican combat sports on an international stage.
