In a recent military operation, U.S. fighter jets launched airstrikes targeting three underground storage facilities in Houthi-controlled areas of Yemen, according to an anonymous U.S. official. The operation, conducted from the USS Dwight D. Eisenhower aircraft carrier in the Red Sea, aimed to disable the Houthi rebels' capabilities.

Witnesses and social media videos showcased the strikes and subsequent explosions in the Houthi-controlled capital of Sanaa on Friday night. However, there is no official confirmation regarding the number of casualties or the source of the explosions.

The TV station Al-Masirah, which is connected to the Houthi rebels, reported that the strikes had hit the city. Additionally, U.S. Central Command revealed that four unmanned aerial vehicles were also destroyed in Houthi-controlled regions of Yemen.

In response to the U.S. airstrikes, the Houthi rebels reportedly fired four anti-ship ballistic missiles towards the Red Sea. Fortunately, no injuries or damages were reported by U.S., coalition, or commercial ships in the area.

The Houthi rebels, who have formed an alliance with Iran and hold significant control over the northern and western parts of Yemen, have been engaged in a sustained campaign of missile and drone attacks on ships in the Red Sea. The rebels claim that these attacks are an attempt to pressure Israel to end its military actions against Hamas in the Gaza Strip.

Despite facing two months of airstrikes led by the United States, the Houthi rebels have continued their onslaught of attacks, demonstrating their determination and resilience.

The U.S. military's decision to target the underground storage facilities is a significant blow to the Houthi rebels, as it aims to disrupt their capacity to launch further attacks on the Red Sea. The airstrikes have once again highlighted the escalating tensions in the region, as Iran's influence continues to reshape the geopolitical dynamics in Yemen.

The situation in Yemen remains complex and volatile, with the ongoing conflict showing no signs of abatement. International stakeholders, including the United States, continue to monitor the situation closely, seeking to foster stability and peace in the war-torn country.
