Two Dead in Kansas City Shooting Following Business Dispute

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - A tragic incident unfolded in Kansas City on Sunday morning as a dispute inside a business on Independence Avenue escalated into a deadly shooting, claiming the lives of two individuals. Authorities have identified the victims as 37-year-old Nicholas Lewis and 34-year-old Reginald McGee.
Police were summoned to the scene at the 4800 block of Independence Avenue near the intersection with Van Brunt around 4:30 a.m. Upon arrival, they discovered a man lying in the parking lot, motionless and suffering from gunshot wounds. Sadly, he was pronounced dead at the scene. Meanwhile, another male victim with gunshot wounds was found inside a nearby business. First responders quickly transported him to a hospital; however, he succumbed to his injuries later on.
According to detectives, the shooting originated from a dispute that unfolded within the business premises. The investigation into this double homicide remains ongoing, and as of now, the police have not apprehended any suspects in connection with the incident.
It is worth noting that this incident occurred in close proximity to a previous shooting that took place at the 4700 block of Independence Avenue in late February.
