In a shocking turn of events, new details surrounding the ban of streaming celebrity Dr Disrespect on Twitch have come to light. According to reports, the popular gamer allegedly used Twitch's direct messaging feature to send sexually explicit texts to a minor.

Dr Disrespect, also known as Guy Beahm, was permanently banned from the Amazon-owned streaming platform in June 2020. At the time, Twitch responded to the #MeToo reckoning within the gaming community, promising to take strong and immediate action on credible allegations of sexual misconduct. Beahm's ban was met with speculation and rumors as the reason behind it remained undisclosed.

The recent revelations emerged after former Twitch employee Cody Conners cryptically tweeted about the reason for Beahm's ban. Although the streamer denied any wrongdoing, internal Twitch communications and interviews with sources have reportedly confirmed that Beahm was banned for allegedly sexting a minor through Twitch's discontinued messaging feature called Whispers. It is claimed that he continued the explicit conversations even after learning that the individual was underage and even inquired about their plans to attend TwitchCon, the company's gaming convention.

The severity of Beahm's alleged conduct led to a quick decision by Twitch to permanently terminate his account. However, the exact contents of the messages have not been made public, as it could compromise the safety of the victim and ongoing law enforcement investigations.

Following his ban from Twitch, Beahm filed a lawsuit against the platform, ultimately settling with the company in 2022. The details of this legal agreement remain unclear, and neither party admitted to any wrongdoing.

In the aftermath of the revelations and the ongoing controversy, Beahm was fired from Midnight Society, the gaming studio he co-founded. He has also faced backlash from other streamers and organizations, including being dropped as a client by talent agency CAA and severed ties with the San Francisco 49ers and the NBA 2K video game franchise.

Despite his denial and attempts to defend himself on social media, the mounting evidence and corroborating accounts from sources have contributed to the growing skepticism surrounding Beahm's claims of innocence.

The situation has once again highlighted the importance of addressing and taking action against allegations of sexual misconduct within the gaming community. Twitch has since implemented measures to investigate off-site misconduct by creators, including sexual exploitation of children.

As the unfolding story continues to capture public attention, it is clear that this controversy has significant implications for not only Dr Disrespect but also the gaming community as a whole.
