Former President Donald Trump has expressed his support for a campaign initiated by pro-Trump trucker and right-wing influencer, Chicago Ray, to halt deliveries to New York City. Trump, posting on his social media platform, Truth Social, celebrated the efforts of the truckers on Saturday night, calling them "Great Patriots on the side of FREEDOM." This movement comes in response to a New York court ruling that ordered Trump and the Trump Organization to pay $355 million in damages for financial fraud.

Ray, in a video shared by Trump, claimed to have spoken to multiple truckers who have pledged to "start refusing loads" headed for New York City, beginning on Monday. The trucker alleges discontent among the community, with claims that the vast majority, 95 to 96 percent, support Trump and view the legal actions against him as "election interference."

In addition to the financial penalties imposed on Trump, Judge Arthur Engoron banned the former president from holding positions in New York corporations for three years and levied fines of $4 million each on his sons, Don Jr. and Eric. Trump has signaled his intention to appeal. This legal setback follows a recent court order for Trump to pay $83 million in defamation-related damages to E. Jean Carroll.

The impact of the truckers' campaign on the flow of goods into New York City remains uncertain. However, Ray's video has garnered significant attention, with over six million views as of early Sunday afternoon. Ray has promised to provide an update on the movement on Monday. This initiative echoes previous protests by truckers, such as the "People's Convoy" in Washington, D.C., which aimed to voice opposition to Covid-19 mandates but saw limited success.
