Tropical Depression Two, located in the tropical Atlantic, has shown signs of further organization and is expected to strengthen into a tropical storm, possibly developing into Hurricane Beryl as it heads west towards the Caribbean. The National Hurricane Center (NHC) has been closely monitoring this system, formerly known as Invest 95L.

As of now, the tropical depression is situated less than 1,200 miles east-southeast of the Windward Islands, posing no immediate threat to any landmasses in the next 36 hours. However, it is forecasted to intensify into Tropical Storm Beryl by Saturday, making its way towards the Windward Islands by the end of the weekend. The NHC has mentioned that Hurricane or Tropical Storm Watches could be issued for portions of the region within the next 24 hours.

Although the atmospheric conditions in this part of the Atlantic basin are typically unfavorable for intensification during late June, the overall atmospheric and oceanic conditions seem conducive to steady strengthening over the next few days, according to NHC forecasters. This means that depending on where the cyclone attains hurricane status, it could become one of the easternmost hurricanes ever recorded, as such storms often form in the Caribbean or the Gulf of Mexico.

In addition to Tropical Depression Two, another disturbance identified as Invest 94L is moving through the Caribbean towards Central America and southern Mexico. This system brings the possibility of heavy and dangerous rainfall. The NHC is currently giving this disturbance a low chance of development. If it does manage to develop, it will likely be in the far western Caribbean or the extreme southern Gulf of Mexico, provided it survives its journey across land.

Meanwhile, a third disturbance is looming just east of Tropical Depression Two, south-southwest of the Cabo Verde Islands. This disturbance is producing unorganized showers and thunderstorms, and slow development is anticipated early next week as it moves westward across the central and western tropical Atlantic.

As the tropical activity in the Atlantic escalates, residents and authorities in the Lesser and Greater Antilles are advised to closely monitor the progress of these systems. While Tropical Depression Two has the potential to strengthen into Hurricane Beryl, it is crucial to stay updated on official messages and heed any warnings or watches issued by the NHC.
