**Fatal Train Accident Claims Three Lives in Ohio**

FREMONT, Ohio — A tragic incident occurred when a train struck and killed two women and a 5-year-old girl on a railroad bridge over the Sandusky River in northern Ohio, according to authorities. The family, hailing from Fort Wayne, Indiana, had been on a fishing trip along the river when the accident happened on Sunday night.

Fremont Mayor Danny Sanchez reported that rescue crews, using sonar technology, spent the entire night searching the river for the victims. They eventually located the young girl's body on Monday near the bridge. Another member of the family, a 1-year-old girl, was rescued from the scene and is currently receiving medical treatment at a hospital.

While the exact details of the tragic event remain unclear, Mayor Sanchez explained that investigators are still determining whether the train directly struck all four family members or if some of them might have jumped or were thrown into the river in an attempt to evade the oncoming locomotive.

The railroad bridge, which spans the Sandusky River, is not intended for pedestrian use and is clearly marked with no trespassing signs. Mayor Sanchez emphasized that he did not believe the family was actively fishing from the bridge when the train arrived. The two women who died in the incident were identified as a mother and her adult daughter.

Norfolk Southern, the company operating the train, expressed deep sorrow over the tragedy and confirmed that they are cooperating fully with the ongoing investigation.
