Officials have identified the young victim of a devastating accident that occurred over the weekend near the Boston Children's Museum. Gracie Gancheva, a 4-year-old girl from Denver, Colorado, tragically lost her life after being struck by a vehicle at the intersection of Congress and Sleeper Streets in Fort Point on Sunday.

Suffolk District Attorney Kevin Hayden confirmed that the incident took place shortly after 5:05 p.m. Emergency services swiftly responded to the scene, and Gracie was urgently transported to a nearby hospital by Boston Emergency Medical Services. Despite their efforts, she was pronounced dead upon arrival.

A police report revealed that an autopsy conducted on Gracie determined the cause of death to be "blunt force injury." The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner has preliminarily classified the incident as an accident, but further investigations will be carried out to ascertain the exact circumstances leading to the tragedy.

Expressing deep condolences to Gracie Gancheva's grieving family, friends, and loved ones, District Attorney Kevin Hayden said, "It's difficult to adequately express the scope of tragedy in losing someone so young." Eyewitness Kim Harris described the chaotic aftermath of the accident, recalling the swift response from law enforcement. "I don't know how many police officers were over here but, yeah, the lights were everywhere. They put the tape up quickly, and helicopters were flying overhead," Harris said.
