**Jon Jones and Stipe Miocic Ready for Heavyweight Title Clash at UFC 309**

The much-anticipated heavyweight showdown between Jon Jones and Stipe Miocic is set to take place at UFC 309. At Friday's official weigh-in event in New York City, Jones tipped the scales at 237.6 pounds, which is 11 pounds lighter than Miocic, who came in at 248.6 pounds.

Jones will be defending his heavyweight title for the first time in the main event on Saturday. This bout was initially scheduled for UFC 295 in November 2023, but had to be postponed after Jones suffered a pectoral injury. Adding another layer of intrigue, interim champion Tom Aspinall is on standby, weighing in at 254.8 pounds, ready to step in if needed.

For his UFC heavyweight debut against Ciryl Gane in March 2023, Jones had weighed 248 pounds, barely heavier than Gane's 247.5 pounds. This indicates a bit of a change in Jones' strategy in terms of weight management.

In addition to the main event, the co-main event will feature a lightweight rematch between Charles Oliveira and Michael Chandler. Both fighters made weight at 155.6 pounds. Their previous encounter at UFC 262 in May 2021 ended with Oliveira claiming victory by a second-round TKO to secure a vacant lightweight title.

However, not all fighters hit their marks. James Llontop weighed in at 166.2 pounds, exceeding the contracted 165-pound catchweight limit by 1.2 pounds. Llontop is slated to face Maurici Ruffy, stepping in on two weeks' notice as a replacement for Charlie Campbell. It remains uncertain whether their bout will proceed at a different catchweight and what penalties Llontop might incur for missing weight.

UFC 309 promises to be a thrilling event, with high stakes and top-tier fighters ready to give their all in the octagon.
