The RBC Heritage tournament at Harbour Town witnessed an intense battle on the leaderboard, with four golfers surging ahead and sharing the lead after an impressive second round on Friday. J.T. Poston, Tom Hoge, Sepp Straka, and Collin Morikawa sit tied at 11-under, just one stroke ahead of Ludvig Åberg and others.

Notably, the Masters champion, Scottie Scheffler, is also in contention, currently lurking at 8-under after a stellar 6-under 65 in Round 2. Scheffler aims to secure his fourth win in five starts, adding to his recent Masters triumph. However, there are nine golfers ahead of him, including four Ryder Cup participants, making the competition fierce.

Looking at the current leaders, all four golfers possess excellent iron play skills, ranging from good to elite. With the exception of Morikawa, they have displayed consistent performance throughout the tournament. Morikawa's score may be attributed to his exceptional short game work, as he currently ranks 47th in the field in approach play.

Despite their lack of name recognition, the top contenders have showcased remarkable power and consistency in their game. The bigger question at this halfway point is whether they can hold off the strong contenders hot on their heels.

One player to watch out for is Ludvig Åberg, who has emerged as a serious threat. Leading the field in approach play, off the tee, and ball striking after 36 holes, Åberg's proficiency is evident. Notably, he is losing strokes in putting, yet managing to maintain a strong hold at 10-under.

Åberg expressed his determination despite feeling slightly fatigued after his performance at the Masters last week. He highlighted his excitement to compete at the iconic RBC Heritage, which demands strategic planning and precise ball placement.

Another golfer gaining momentum is Scottie Scheffler, who surged into the top 10 with his impressive 6-under 65 in Round 2. Known for his exceptional ball striking, Scheffler is positioned just three shots behind the leaders. His recent success in winning the Masters, Players Championship, and Arnold Palmer Invitational makes him a formidable contender.

If Scheffler maintains his consistent form, he is en route toward achieving an astonishing streak of 38 consecutive rounds at or under par, potentially adding a red jacket to his green Masters jacket.

The RBC Heritage is shaping up to be an enthralling weekend of golf, as the top of the leaderboard remains tightly contested. With the leaders showcasing their skills and notable challengers knocking at the door, fans can anticipate an exhilarating conclusion to this prestigious tournament.
