In a stunning turn of events, a Texas man named Wicliff Yves Fleurizard has been apprehended for attempting to sneak onto a Delta Airlines flight in Salt Lake City. According to federal prosecutors, Fleurizard managed to board the plane using a snapshot of another passenger's boarding pass. However, his covert plan was foiled when he realized the flight was fully booked, leaving him without a seat.

Fleurizard, a resident of George, Texas, now faces a felony charge for being a stowaway on an aircraft. The incident occurred on March 17, as security footage from Salt Lake City's Department of Airports captured Fleurizard chatting with a fellow male passenger near the boarding gate for the Austin-bound flight.

The footage reveals Fleurizard discreetly pulling out his smartphone and swiftly taking a photo of the unsuspecting passenger's unfolded boarding pass. After exchanging a handshake, Fleurizard joined the line and made his way onto the plane. The footage further shows Fleurizard allegedly snapping photos of several other passengers' phones and boarding passes without their knowledge.

Once onboard, Fleurizard proceeded to open a door to an emergency equipment storage area. Believing he was confused, a flight attendant guided him to the lavatory at the front of the aircraft. However, Fleurizard spent an unusual amount of time in the bathroom and did not lock the door. He eventually moved to the lavatory at the back of the plane as other passengers continued to move around.

His ruse unraveled when Fleurizard claimed to be assigned to seat 21F, only to find a young girl already occupying it. Suspecting something amiss, the flight attendant checked the passenger records and discovered that Fleurizard's name was not associated with the flight or any other Delta Airlines flight.

As a result, the plane was forced to return to the gate, where Salt Lake City Police officers were waiting to apprehend Fleurizard. According to official court documents, Fleurizard had obtained a buddy pass from a friend for a Southwest Airlines flight. However, his attempts to travel the day prior and earlier on March 17 had been unsuccessful due to high passenger numbers. Fleurizard claimed he was in a rush to meet family members visiting him in Texas from Florida, after a snowboarding trip in Utah.

"Fleurizard admitted he had made a mistake and was only trying to get home," stated a Salt Lake City Police officer in the filed affidavit.

The incident serves as a reminder of the importance of airline security measures and the need for passengers to remain vigilant. The case against Fleurizard will now proceed in federal district court as authorities scrutinize the full extent of his actions and potential motives.
