### Turmoil Continues for the Philadelphia 76ers Amid On-Court Struggles and Locker Room Drama

The Philadelphia 76ers are experiencing turmoil both on and off the court this season. With a 2-12 record, the worst in the NBA, their on-court performance has been dismal. In their latest game, they lost 117-111 to the Memphis Grizzlies, despite Memphis missing several key players, including star guard Ja Morant.

The team's struggles extend beyond gameplay. Controversy has erupted around Joel Embiid, particularly concerning his surgically-repaired left knee. Off the court, tensions escalated when Embiid was involved in a physical altercation with Marcus Hayes of The Philadelphia Inquirer after Hayes mentioned sensitive personal subjects related to Embiid's family.

Following a demoralizing loss to the Miami Heat, the Sixers held a locker room meeting. Details from this meeting leaked, revealing that Tyrese Maxey called out Embiid for his tardiness. Understandably, Embiid was frustrated with the leak, commenting that "whoever leaked that is a real piece of [expletive]."

Embiid responded to this internal criticism by putting on a strong performance against Memphis but appeared defensive in his postgame comments. He acknowledged the excessive scrutiny he often faces, stating, "I'm the reason for everything, so I'll take the blame for everything."

The leaking of internal discussions has highlighted deeper issues within the team. For a roster where over half the players are new, building mutual trust with the coaching staff is crucial, and breaches of locker room confidentiality only hinder this process.

Despite the friction, Embiid has shown resilience, though his postgame remarks suggest frustration with the continuous negative spotlight. He stressed the importance of staying focused and improving as a team.

General Manager Daryl Morey has heavily invested in the team, securing Maxey and bringing in Paul George, whom he recruited extensively. The optimism in Philadelphia for the newly formed Big 3 was palpable. However, the early part of the season has been challenging, and the 76ers must address both their internal and external issues to meet expectations.

Embiid's health remains a variable largely out of his control, but his attitude and leadership are pivotal as the team moves forward. Despite feeling beleaguered by persistent negativity, Embiid emphasized the need for the team to maintain a "perfect" approach due to their slim margin for error.

In the midst of these troubles, the Sixers must find a way to unify and improve. For now, the best remedy for their woes appears to be winning, though nearly every aspect of the team currently seems fraught with issues.
