In a recent episode of ESPN's "Get Up," analyst Dan Orlovsky made a bold claim that star receiver Davante Adams will be joining the New York Jets this season in a "done deal" that will reunite him with former teammate Aaron Rodgers. Orlovsky's statement follows Adams' comments in Netflix's "Receiver" docuseries, where he expressed frustration with his current team, the Las Vegas Raiders.

Orlovsky pointed to Adams' candid remarks in the series, suggesting that the wide receiver's situation in Las Vegas is not much better for him. The only hindrance to the potential move to the Jets, according to Orlovsky, could be Adams' loyalty to new Raiders head coach Antonio Pierce.

The Raiders enter training camp with Aidan O'Connell, a fourth-round pick from the 2023 draft, and veteran Gardner Minshew as their quarterbacks. Despite not having a quarterback of Rodgers' caliber, Adams has remained productive in Las Vegas. However, Rodgers poured fuel on the rumors of a reunion, expressing his excitement to play with Adams again at a recent golf tournament.

The specifics of how a potential trade between the Raiders and the Jets would work were not discussed by Orlovsky. The Jets recently signed Mike Williams as their No. 2 wide receiver behind Garrett Wilson, and they currently have $6.25 million in cap space, as per Over The Cap. Acquiring Adams would require the Jets to pay him $17.5 million this season, considering his lucrative contract.

If the trade were to materialize, the Raiders would undoubtedly demand a significant trade package in return. Orlovsky emphasized that the team has gone all-in and must make it work to avoid disappointment in the upcoming season.

Although Orlovsky's opinion sparked excitement among fans, it received criticism as well. Gregg Giannotti of WFAN accused Orlovsky of taking credit for information he had shared earlier about the potential Adams trade in late August or early September.

As the rumors continue to circulate, fans eagerly await official confirmation or denial from both the Jets and the Raiders. A potential reunion of Adams and Rodgers remains a tantalizing prospect for football enthusiasts, while the Jets organization considers the financial and logistical aspects of such a significant move.
