Shane Gillis made a comeback to "Saturday Night Live" on February 24th with a sketch impersonating former president Donald Trump in a faux movie trailer. The sketch, titled "White Men Can Trump," humorously portrayed Gillis' character gaining special abilities by wearing Trump's expensive gold high-top speakers, which cost $399. The magical sneakers didn't make him a better basketball player but turned him into an expert at Trump's unique gaslighting techniques.

The entertaining trailer showcased Gillis' character convincing others of his basketball talents, leading to hilarious scenarios where he gets a larger office, appears lighter on the scale, and impresses a woman in the bedroom. The sketch also featured SNL cast member James Austin Johnson as Trump and Mikey Day as a character who struggles with aging after wearing Biden sneakers.

Gillis, who previously faced backlash over intolerant jokes in 2019 resulting in his firing from the show, addressed the scandal briefly during his monologue on his return. The sketch playfully mocked various sports fantasies, labeling it as "another magical sneaker movie for white people" from Newsmax Studios.
